The Marketplace of Worth

In a bustling city filled with markets, a young man walked through the crowded streets, watching as sellers shouted prices and buyers bargained for the best deals. The scene was fascinating—everyone seemed to know exactly how much something was worth, fighting to get the best value.

That evening, as he sat by the window, lost in thought, a realization struck. What if people treated their own worth the same way? What if they truly understood their value instead of constantly seeking approval from others?

He reflected on how often he had bargained with his emotions—lowering self-respect just to be accepted, compromising happiness to please others, and seeking validation from those who never truly valued him. It was as if he had allowed others to determine his worth, just like a buyer dictates the price of a product.

But why? Why should anyone else decide his value?

At that moment, he made a choice. No longer would he stand before others, waiting for recognition, love, or validation. Instead, he would know his worth and carry himself with confidence. He realized that when he valued himself, he would no longer need to bargain for love, care, or respect.

The next day, he walked through the same marketplace, but this time, he smiled—not because he was looking for something, but because he had already found the most valuable thing of all: his own self-worth.

And as he embraced his worth, life responded in kind—bringing love, respect, and opportunities that aligned with the person he had chosen to become.

Love yourself.Respect yourself.Know your worth. And the right things will find their way to you.

Matthew 10:29-31 (NIV)

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows."
