River of Life

Once, she flowed through the curves of the land, a gentle river weaving her way toward distant horizons. She embraced each bend, whispering secrets to the stones below, unaware that those same stones would one day be hurled at her. The people, oblivious to her true nature, saw her as a mere conduit—a means to an end. They quenched their thirst from her liquid veins without gratitude or understanding. But time has a way of revealing truths, and so she transformed. The water receded, leaving behind a parched landscape—a silent plea for recognition.
